Name and role
Trevor Sadowski, Finance Director
When did you join Waterman Aspen?
I joined Waterman Aspen in January 2020, after many years working across the wider Waterman Group. That experience has been invaluable, as it gave me a strong understanding of both the bigger picture and the day-to-day needs of the business.
Blanche Bowen and I now work closely together in the finance team, having previously worked together for many years across the wider Group. That meant I joined Aspen with an established working relationship already in place, which has been a real advantage when tackling finance challenges together.
What’s the best thing about working for Waterman Aspen?
That finance has a real voice here. We’re involved in the conversations that help shape the business, and I enjoy that mix of strategy, systems and problem-solving. Whether it’s budgets, audits, policies or improving the way we work, there’s always something meaningful to get stuck into.
How has working alongside Blanche shaped your approach?
Working with Blanche has definitely made me more direct when I need to be. We approach problems differently, and that combination has been a real strength.

What makes the Finance team at Waterman Aspen different?
We’re here to support the business, not just report on it. That means being approachable, explaining the numbers clearly and helping people understand what sits behind them. We’ve built a team that is collaborative, practical and focused on finding solutions.
What would you say to someone interested in a career in your role?
Finance is much more than producing numbers. It’s about understanding how a business works, building relationships and helping people make better decisions. I’ve worked across several industries over the years, and that variety has been invaluable because every sector teaches you something different. If you enjoy detail while also appreciating the bigger picture, it can be a very rewarding career.
