Name and role
Blanche Bowen, Associate Director – Finance
When did you join Waterman Aspen?
I joined the wider Waterman Group in December 2008 and moved into Waterman Aspen in April 2015 as the business evolved. Since then, I’ve helped build and strengthen the finance function, supporting colleagues right across the business.
I had worked closely with Trevor Sadowski in a number of roles across the Group before joining Aspen, so when he moved into the business in 2020, we already had a strong foundation in place. That shared experience gave us a clear understanding of how each other works, and it continues to shape our working relationship today.
What’s the best thing about working for Waterman Aspen?
For me, it’s the people. Finance sits right at the heart of the business, so one minute I might be helping someone understand a budget and the next I’m sorting out a billing, systems or process issue. I like being someone colleagues can come to, and I genuinely enjoy helping people make sense of the numbers. After over 10 years at WA, I can honestly say I’ve never been bored!
How has working alongside Trevor shaped your approach?
Working with Trevor has taught me the value of taking a breath and thinking about the best way to get a message across. We balance each other well.

What would you say to someone interested in a career in your role?
I’ve been working since I was 19, and I’ve never ever been out of work doing accounts because you can move from one industry to another doing the same job. My advice would be to go for it! Finance gives you skills you can take anywhere, which is one of the things I’ve always liked about it. Every business needs people who understand the details, can build relationships and find a way through a problem. If you stay open-minded, learn the basics properly and keep adapting, it can be a really rewarding career.
