What does a typical day look like in your role or secondment?
A typical day in my role as an internal recruiter involves a mix of strategic sourcing, screening, and stakeholder management across both permanent and contract roles. I work closely with hiring managers to understand priorities and requirements, providing specialist recruitment advice and market insight to help shape effective hiring strategies.
I proactively source and engage candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, and my network, alongside carrying out CV reviews and initial interviews to assess suitability and cultural fit. I also manage Waterman Aspen job adverts to ensure they are accurately positioned and consistently attracting strong, relevant talent into the business.
A key part of my role is acting as a trusted recruitment partner, offering guidance on market availability, salary and rate expectations, and wider hiring conditions. It’s a fast-paced, consultative role that combines specialist recruitment knowledge, market understanding, and strong relationship management across the engineering sector.
What’s the best thing about working for Waterman Aspen?
What I enjoy most about Waterman Aspen is the people and the supportive culture. There’s a real sense of collaboration across the business, and it feels like a company that invests in its people and encourages long-term development and progression.
