About
Mental health & wellbeing
Encouraging, approachable, honest, supportive, inclusive, compassionate… these are some of the words our colleagues have used to describe Waterman Aspen as a company – and they’re not just words.
We are absolutely committed to a safe, healthy and supportive environment in which we can all work to the best of our ability. We want people to enjoy coming to work, but we also understand that things can change, and people may need extra support with their mental health and wellbeing from time to time.
We have a dedicated leadership team which is responsible for just that – and we are a member of the Building Mental Health Charter to reinforce our commitment to the mental health of our colleagues.
24/7 support at your fingertips
There is a clear structure in place to support people, including a team of trained Mental Health First Aiders, and an Employee Assistance programme for confidential counselling services for depression, anxiety, physical health and any issues affecting someone’s wellbeing.
We regularly communicate across the whole company through our internal newsletter – called Open Up – which is dedicated to mental health and wellbeing issues.
Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index
Waterman Aspen was one of 67 organisations to take part in Mind’s annual Workplace Wellbeing Index, which is a benchmark of best policy and practice – celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health. It also provides key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve.
We were very pleased and proud to achieve the Gold Award – celebrating our excellent work in promoting positive mental health practices in the workplace.
